Data Deletion Instructions

If you run a garage on AutoVin

To have your workshop's account and data deleted:

1. Email hello@autovin.dev from the email address registered on your account, with the subject "Delete my account".
2. We will confirm the request with you and then delete the account. Deletion is permanent, so export anything you are legally required to keep, such as tax invoices, before you send the request.

What gets deleted:

• Your organisation account and all staff logins.
• All workshop records: customers, vehicles, bookings, estimates, job cards, invoices, parts and purchasing records.
• All uploaded photos and documents.
• Your WhatsApp connection, including the encrypted access token, and the WhatsApp and email message logs.

Deletion is completed within 30 days of the confirmed request and we will email you when it is done. Residual copies in encrypted backups are removed as those backups expire in the normal backup cycle.

If you are a garage's customer

If a workshop has entered your details into AutoVin, those records belong to that workshop, so the fastest route is to ask the workshop to remove them. You can also come to us:

1. Email hello@autovin.dev with the workshop's name and your vehicle's plate number or the phone number the updates were sent to.
2. We will verify the request and remove your personal information within 30 days. Where the records sit under the workshop's account, we will coordinate the removal with them.

Just want the WhatsApp messages to stop?

You do not need a deletion request for that. Every update links to a tracking page for the vehicle, and that page has a "Stop receiving WhatsApp updates" option. Using it stops messages for that vehicle immediately and cancels anything still queued. You can also ask the workshop to turn updates off.
